SPW Into the Mist Preview
It’s good times for wrestling fans now, especially since start of AEW’s regular TV programming. I’ll probably write an article on them but in the meantime here’s probably SPW’s last show of the year (not counting their upcoming appearance at the Singapore Comic Con). There are some matches which I’m really looking forward to, so let’s go!

Jang Kawi & Top Notch vs Sultan Singh & Prince Khaleed: I’ve seen Jang Kawi a couple of times some time back (he does a great 450 splash), but have no knowledge of the other three wrestlers, so it will simply be a guesswork here. Jang Kawi and Top Notch should win purely on the basis on the former’s return.
Winner: Jang Kawi and Top Notch
Blue Nova vs CK Vin: This match was setup after CK Vin’s attack on Blue Nova during SPW’s private event Suplex City. I spoken about CK Vin being a natural heel which the crowd digs, but he hasn’t had that standout match yet, with losing all his tag matches so far, against Team A.C.E. In fact I would say he really needs this win to kickstart his momentum (otherwise he will fall into Bray Wyatt territory). Working with an experienced hand like Blue Nova should help him get a good showing.
Winner: CK Vin
Alexis Lee vs The Coloniser: The Coloniser have been making waves with her creative promos, but I would consider this to be her real ‘debut’, without the distraction of a multi-men match. She will need to heel it up not just pre-match but also during the match, which she will need to pick it up with experience. As for Alexis, she is supposedly undefeated against local female competition —while I will feel gutted if she breaks her streak, but why not lose it to a mega heel like Coloniser? By the way why is Luna Inez, involved? Sounds a bit dodgy to me…
Winner: The Coloniser
Team GM (GM Carl Hella, Teo Holmes Archibald Ignatius, The Social Misfits) vs Team Might Dragon Family (Mighty Mighty, Big Good Jack, The Eurasian Dragon): I was wrong when I thought the feud ended in the last show, with the good guys finally winning and having Eurasian Dragon returning. I like the involvement of the Social Misfits now as it allows Mighty Dragon Family to transit into tag team matches with the misfits. With the odds stacked in the arsehole GM’s favour, it seems the good guys will take a loss this round. This feud will never end.
Winner: Team GM
Trexxus vs Aiden Rex: This is one match-up I’ve never seen before, and thus is one of the matches I’m really looking forward to for this show. Expect a banger from the two veterans, most likely telling a story of speed versus strength (although we all know Trexxus is deceptively agile). This is one match which they should give 20+ minutes, and have them entertaining us with a true wrestling showcase.
Winner: Trexxus
3-Way for the SPW Singapore Championship: Destroyer Dharma (c) vs Da Butcherman vs Black Arrow: Another one which I’m really looking forward to, as the buildup to this has been nicely-paced, slowing brewing ever since Butcherman’s attack on the champion post his gym session. The sudden inclusion of the returning Black Arrow makes things more intriguing, as we know he poses a legitimate threat. Contrary to my want of a long match between Trexxus and Aiden Rex, I think this match works best as a 10+ minute sprint, and having the trio showcasing their moves at a rapid pace. Dharma should still retain though.
Winner: Destroyer Dharma
Tajiri vs The Statement Andruew Tang: It is an exhibition match, so it does take away some excitement from me. I would say that while it is great that we see Statement facing against big international stars every show, it does make the SEA title secondary, serving more as an accessory for Statement. With nothing on the line, I will be watching this purely from a technical wrestling perspective. I will really mark out if Tajiri does his green mist to win haha.
Winner: Tajiri
That’s all for now, thanks for reading!
