WWE Weekly Thoughts 14.2.19
Missed out on last week’s episodes as I was in India attending a wedding, so it’s time to resume this!
WWE Raw 11.2.19
- Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan have really improved alot since their introduction to the main shows. I’m especially impressed with Liv Morgan —she used to be called the mini-Carmella but I actually think Morgan has exceeded her with her smoothness in the ring, as well as her selling. Just compare them to Nia Jax and Tamina (please stop doing your horrendous splash, it’s a disgrace).
- I thought it was a misstep for Becky Lynch with the script, making her look like an angsty stubborn teenager. I actually was more on the side of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, who presented a logical case on their decision.
- The ladies really love Finn Balor —look at how they cheer him on during his entrance, treating him like a stripper from Magic Mike.
- What a great tag match between the Bobby Roode and Chad Gable vs The Revival match. The whole idea of tag teams is that the whole is better than the sum of its parts, not just two individuals rotating and doing their own move sets. Gable continues to be criminally underused.
WWE Smackdown Live 12.2.19
- Nice to see Charlotte confirming her heel turn with a delicious promo —she is so comfortable in that aristocratic privileged heel role just like her dad.
- Another great Gauntlet match (recent Gauntlet matches were all great), with Kofi Kingston delivering a MOTM performance. I think people have forgotten that prior to The New Day he was a great singles wrestler. I have the faint hope that WWE rewards his tenure with the WWE / Universal Championship to complete his Grand Slam status.
- The Gauntlet match also shows that wrestlers can get over with the crowd by simply showing good technical wrestling. No stupid inoculation in the ass, or seducing someone’s husband.
That’s all for now, thanks for reading!
