Southeast Asia Championship match: Jake De Leon vs The Statement Andruew vs Trexxus went to a no contest
My preview predictions: 4/7

Arsenal Affi & Blue Nova vs AJ Pyro & Serigala: Nova and Serigala starts the match as they lock up. Serigala tries to go for a powerbomb but Nova escapes with his agility. Both sides switch tags as Pryo keeps going for submission moves on Affi, utilising his MMA background. Nova becomes the active man as he eats a spear from Pyro, and gorilla press slam from Serigala for a two count. Affi and Nova fight back to put Serigala out of the ring to focus on Pryo. Serigala then gets onto the top rope to hit a great missile dropkick on both Affi and Nova. Affi and Pryo now brawl in the ring, as Pyro exchanges a spinebuster with Affi’s unique fisherman suplex pin. Affi and Nova hit knees on Serigala in the corner, before Pyro pulls Affi out of the ring. Serigala catches Nova’s top rope crossbody attempt, and transitions into a hanging vertical-to-falling uranage, for the pin as Pyro prevents Affi from breaking the pin. AJ Pyro & Serigala defeated Arsenal Affi & Blue Nova via pin [**1/2]

Winner: A solid match to start the show, with Serigala impressing me the most amongst the four. My question is whether the Affi & Blue Nova team-up is permanent or one-time only —they lacked a clear identity as a team.

Luna Inez vs Selina: Selena starts off with a promo to slag Luna for their lost in the last show, getting huge heat from the crowd (credits to her for maintaining her composure). Luna, skipping out Liv Morgan style, retorts back before getting a cheapshot from Selina. Match starts and Luna quickly takes the initiative, with a series of shoulder blocks and elbows. Selina fights back, dishing corner leg chokes and stretching her using the ring post. Luna replies with shoulder blocks and a crossbody pin for two. Crossface follows but Selina gets out and hits a fisherman suplex. Both then run the ropes and hits each other with a clothesline. Luna hits elbows and a sitdown facebuster for two She tries a crossface again but Selina grabs the ropes. She tries for another facebuster but Selina counters with a slap and a sideslam. She pins Luna but stops at two to humiliate her. She then goes for a Samoan drop but Luna counters into a roll-up for the win! Luna Inez defeated Selina via pin [**]

It was good showing from both, leveraging on a simple layout and executing their moves well. This is a much better performance, which should give them a boost to their confidence levels.

P-Nutz vs Judas & Kyle Black: Judas and Kyle Black come out first, and starts a promo about looking for P-Nutz in the Thai discos. P-Nutz appears and the two immediately brawls with him. P-Nuts does a nice fallaway slam with Judas on Black. GM Carl Hella now appears and books the match into a 2-on-1 handicapped match. Match starts and P-Nutz dominates while Judas and Black alternate tags. Judas hits a chinbreaker to stun P-Nutz and follows with a dropkick, but P-Nutz quickly responds with an atomic drop and neckbreaker. The fights takes to ringside as P-Nutz chops Judas and Black hard. P-Nutz gets whipped into the ring post and gets rolled back into the ring, but he again recovers with a chokeslam on Judas for a two count. Black now goes under the ring with some tricks up his sleeve, but the referee spots him. Black does a fire eating trick and knocks the referee out due to the fumes, and both now attacks P-Nutz in the ring with sticks. Oh man, the attacks look horrible and unconvincing. The two hit a series of moves on P-Nutz for a two count, but P-Nutz replies with a spinning side slam, and brutal-looking lariats to each of them to get the win. P-Nutz defeated Judas and Kyle Black via pin [**1/2]

I’m not a big fan of handicapped matches due to its predictability, but it was entertaining for what it is, with the distractions and shenanigans. I’m not sure what is the plan for Judas and Kyle Black —are they a jobber team or a legitimate team in the division? My opinion is they were slightly too comical —they may end up with a short life span like Korean New Style. While Kyle Black has the athleticism and the ability to take huge bumps, it was really hard to believe any of his offense.

The Horrors vs Feral Alliance: Gotham starts to trash talk the crowd for cheap heat as The Horrors appear to a big pop. Brawl starts, as Butcherman hits a corner ten punch on Faizal. Faizal gets the upper hand as he hits a bodyslam and three falling elbow drops (I really dig this old school move). Doubleteam suplex follows as Butcherman’s fightbacks keeps getting cut short, while Dr Gore keeps getting hit with cheap shots. Gotham surprises everyone with a rana for a two count. Butcherman finally hits an enzuigiri and tags Dr Gore, who runs wild with a running senton and backbreaker on Gotham, and then does a finger break. Faizal goes into the ring but gets cut off by Butcherman with a Lou Thesz press. Busy sequence follows as everyone hits moves on each other, ending with Butcherman’s slingshot spear. Feral Alliance gets the upper hand with corner splashes and a back body drop team move. Gotham tries to use the belt with Ref Sodiq distracted, but Dr Gore counter with a cutter on the belt! Butcherman superman punches Faizal and tries his flatliner finisher but Faizal counters. Faizal goes for a powerslam but eats two superkicks from Dr Gore. Bucherman finishes him off with his flatliner. The Horrors defeated Feral Alliance via pin [***]

It started slow, then reached a brisk pace in the middle, before slowing down towards the end as Gotham and Faizal kinda gassed out. There were some tag team combinations as well as old-school moves which I really liked. I thought it was nice that Harry Ray didn’t attempt to be more involved, allowing the match to be fought cleanly. The Horrors picked up a big win and now positioned themselves to fight for the tag titles.

Power Warrior & Carl Hella & Destroyer Dharma vs Mighty Dragon Family: Mighty Mighty (wearing suspenders to fix his wardrobe malfunction issue) and Big Good Jack reveals Wam Bam Bellows as their third tag team member. Mighty Mighty and Power Warrior starts the match as Mighty overpowers Warrior with his strength. He tags Bellows in who does an unique pump handle slam. Bellows tries for a bulldog which Warrior counters. GM Carl tags in but gets hit with shoulder blocks, before tagging in Dharma. Dharma bodyslams Bellows and chokes him in the corner. Warrior tags in but finally gets hit with the bulldog. Jack tags in and hits shoulder blocks and a belly to belly suplex for a two count. Dharma manages to tag in and starts to dominate Jack with power moves and stomping his foot repeatedly. Jack finally tags Mighty in who runs wild with clotheslines and elbows, and a falcon arrow on the GM. The brawl goes to the ringside, with Warrior doing a crossbody from the apron after his usual suicide dive tease. Mighty then ups the ante with an APRON SWANTON BOMB to chants of HOLY SHIT. Back in the ring Jack hits Warrior with a lariat, GM hits Jack with a DDT, and Bellows hit GM with a mean looking piledriver. Dharma hits Bellows with a World Strongest Slam, and Mighty does a stunner on Dharma and a falling uranage on Warrior for a pin, which Dharma breaks. Jack joins Mighty for a double powerbomb on Warrior but Dharma throws Mighty out and chokeslams Jack, and places Warrior on him for the pin. Power Warrior & GM Carl Hella & Destroyer Dharma defeated Mighty Dragon Family via pin [***]

A solid fun match, with everyone playing their role well. Although Mighty Dragon Family lost, all three impressed —Mighty Mighty had an OMG moment, Big Good Jack sold his leg injury well, while Wam Bam Bellows’ style fit in well with the team’s general happy-go-lucky theme. The feud continues.

Aiden Rex vs Shaukat: Both locks up to some technical wrestling on the ground, with Aiden attempting a series of pins. Aiden does a crisp kip-up and dropkicks Shaukat. Shaukat replies by attacking Aiden’s knee and puts him in a leg lock and a illegal choke with the strap of his knee guard. Shuakat does a suplex and pin for two. Aiden fights back with elbows but eats a Bossman slam for two. Aiden finally counters with an enzuigiri and a fisherman neckbreaker. He then hits a slingblade and transitions a rana into an armbar which Shaukat goes for the ropes. Shaukat replies with a sick looking package piledriver! Aiden recovers and goes for a top rope 450 which Shaukat avoids, but Aiden quickly hits a standing moonsault! Aiden tries for a crossface, which Shaukat overcomes into an AA, but Aiden lands on his feet. Shaukat then hits a Samoan to Michinoku driver for a two count. Shaukat goes for another time but Aiden counters into an interesting Kimura leg lock combo. Shaukat teases tapping out but powers out of it, and starts to ground and pound Aiden. The referee has no choice but to disqualify him. Aiden Rex defeated Shaukat via disqualification [***1/2]

Oh my, what an anti-climatic finish, especially when the match was really good, showing the clash of styles between the two. Having Shaukat losing his cool was quite sudden, as he was still 50-50 in the match. Aiden Rex continues to impress me more.

Southeast Asia Championship match: Lokomotiv (c)Jake De Leon vs The Statement vs Trexxus: GM Carl appears and announces to the crowd that Lokomotiv will not appear due to bad weather conditions in Russia, resulting in boos from the crowd. He vacates him from the title and changes the match into a singles match between Statement and Trexxus. However Philippine Wrestling Revolution’s Jake De Leon appears and convinces the GM to include him in for a triple threat match. The match starts with the Singaporeans teaming up to throw JDL out of the ring. Trexxus counters Statement’s satellite DDT and Statement counters Trexxus’ powerbomb. JDL pulls Trexxus out of the ring and hits Statement with a cartwheel splash. Statement replies with multiple knife edge chops but JDL hits back with a spear from the middle rope for a two count. Trexxus hits a Stinger splash on JDL and does his signature elbow drop after standing on him at the corner top rope, and then a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for a two count. The crowd starts to chant JOLLIBEE. Statement and Trexxus teams up again on JDL, as the latter fights back. Statement hits a draping DDT on Leon outside of the ring, but Trexxus does a over-the-top suicide senton! Back in to ring JDL is brutalised by Trexxus with his signature vertical suplex-front backpack stunner combination for a two count. The fights goes back to Statement and Trexxus as Statement does a wheelbarrow bulldog. JDL recovers and the three does a superplex powerbomb move to chants of HOLY SHIT. The three recovers in the middle of the ring and exchange blows with each other. JDL hulks up and deliver dropkicks, corner clotheslines and cannonballs to both of them. Trexxus puts JDL out of the ring, but Statement attacks with a top rope Thesz press and his signature satellite DDT, and then a wicked brainbuster for two. The pace quickens and Trexxus powerbombs Statement, JDL elbow drops Trexxus from the top rope, and Statement does a Canadian destroyer on JDL! Trexxus then Brogue kicks Statement by mistake, allowing JDL to put him in sleeper hold from a piggyback position. Statement breaks up the hold and does his Shellshock finisher on JDL for the pin, but Trexxus manages to put his arm across! GM Carl appears and announces the result is a no contest. Jake De Leon vs The Statement Andruew vs Trexxus went to a no contest [***1/2]

The three really tried to overcome the disappointment of no Lokomotiv, and they nearly did, providing humor and high level moves for the crowd. I thought it was amusing whenever Statement and Trexxus team up against JDL —it would have made sense against someone imposing like Loko, but it felt like bullying against the pudgy JDL. The result, although frustrating to the crowd, made sense as crowning the new champion without Lokomotiv’s involvement would have dilute the impact of victory. Also special praise to JDL, assuming that he had to fill in for Loko in short notice.

Overall: Boiling Point was an entertaining show which provided a showcase of MyPW talent, returning faces (Affi, P-Nutz, Dharma) as well as good performances from the newer SPW talent (Selina, Luna, Nova, Judas, Kyle Black, Jack) —it was really encouraging to see them delivering. Also, a hot crowd contributed to the overall atmosphere of the show. However a no-show by Lokomotiv and back-to-back screwy decisions, especially for the two main events, lead to an anti-climatic finish.
