WWE Weekly Thoughts 26.4.19

After a short break, it’s time to resume this after the Superstar Shakeup post WrestleMania!

WWE Raw 22.4.19

  • Damn, Cesaro’s entrance graphic looked like a last minute job by a graphic designer intern.
  • It’s not the first time I’ve noticed it, but does anyone find Cedric Alexander’s screams too over the top? He sell those screams for almost every move, as if he has broken something, which loses the impact when a move actually matters.
  • What an awesome re-brand of Bobby Roode with a name change and a glorious-looking porn-star mustache. It was hilarious to see the Corey Graves and Renee Young losing it, causing a period of no commentary during Roode’s match with Ricochet.
  • With AJ Styles challenging Seth Rollins for the Universal Title at MITB, I wonder will Seth bring up the fact he beat AJ twice in UUPP Madden tournaments?

WWE Smackdown Live 23.4.19

  • I don’t get the Aleister Black promo —his whole character is built on an aura of mysteriousness, so there isn’t really a need for him to explain his background, motivations, etc.
  • It was a great match between Charlotte and Bayley, but the result meant we are going to get another Charlotte-Becky title match after MITB. I mean, the whole point of the shakeup is to have fresh matches, not reruns.
  • Like everyone predicted, Kevin Owens turned on his allies yet again. I thought it was too early, but it was understandable as there is no top heel currently on the show (Lars Sullivan probably need more time to acclimatize before he is ready for the big matches).

That’s all for now, thanks for reading!
